Under a decision by AADE Governor Giorgos Pitsilis, two new Administrative Audit Offices will be established to handle the appeals. AI to assess appealsThe new offices will focus primarily on appeals submitted by vehicle owners whose cars were identified through electronic cross-checks as uninsured and who subsequently face the applicable fines. The AI system will process the information and supporting documents accompanying each appeal and prepare a reasoned recommendation on whether the request should be accepted or rejected. The outcome of each review will be recorded in the Vehicle Cross-Check Management Information System through Greece’s unified government digital portal, gov.gr. The new offices will also be able to initiate procedures to correct vehicle information in the databases of relevant authorities and, when necessary, forward supporting documents to other agencies.
