The outing, organised by The Spinney Care Home in Chingford, took residents to Southend-on-Sea, where they spent the day walking along the promenade, searching for seashells, and enjoying fish and chips by the sea.
Many residents shared memories of childhood holidays and trips with family.
Glennis Rowbury, 77, who is staying at The Spinney for respite care, described the day as "wonderful."
"My parents would take me to Southend when I was a small child, but it’s changed a lot since then.
I have such lovely memories of Southend, and even at 91 I still love an ice cream at the beach."
