The figures, from the Met's public tableau, shows the number of official crime reports made in each of the six east London boroughs as well as the most recurring offence types last month. Data also revealed that Newham had received the most reported crime across the first six months of 2026 overall, with 20,924 cases. Waltham Forest saw 2,047 criminal reports in July - a fractional decrease from the 2,098 reports in the previous month. With the fewest criminal reports made in east London, was Barking and Dagenham with 1,873 cases. July saw 735 reports made about violence against the person, 338 reports of theft and 201 cases of vehicle offences.
