Now, more than 40 years after it first appeared, Commodore is putting the gloriously sturdy controller back into production, with pre-orders for the new Commodore TAC-2 opening today.
“While the Commodore 64 Ultimate was designed to support all classic C64 peripherals, getting your hands on vintage hardware like the TAC-2 is sometimes easier said than done,” said Commodore CEO, President, and, brilliantly, Chief Joystick Waggler Peri Fractic.
BASIC Beige has been designed to match the breadbin-style Commodore 64 Ultimate, while C= White goes alongside the later C64C-style machine.
Knight Black provides the predictably darker option, while the translucent Starlight Edition has been created to accompany the similarly styled Commodore 64 Ultimate Starlight Edition.
This follows the arrival of the Commodore 64 Ultimate last year as the resurrected Commodore continues to lean heavily into preserving and recreating some of the hardware associated with the company’s history.
