Reading time: 2 minutesIn Hawaiʻi County, a new Extension Master Food Volunteers program is filling a void in community food education by training volunteers to deliver practical, research-based food education to keiki, adults, families and kūpuna. A team of Extension agents at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience finished training 15 community members in May. The program uses curriculum adapted from North Carolina State University and connects Hawaiʻi with a growing national network of Master Food Volunteer programs.
