Zack Littell was activated by the Diamondbacks this afternoon after signing a major league contract over the weekend. He’s going tonight against the Rockies, who are countering with rookie righty Gabriel Hughes. Littell took the ball 23 times and posted an ERA just under 5.00 across 112 1/3 innings. There’s not much downside for the Snakes in stashing Littell in a low-leverage relief role. The D-Backs mostly have journeymen types in middle relief and didn’t make any pitching acquisitions before the trade deadline.
