Hyderabad: Describing the setting up of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) as the greatest reform undertaken by the Congress government, Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy said that the appointment of officials is the state government's prerogative and can’t be taken away by anyone. He was responding to the Telangana High Court's directive to the Chief Secretary to relieve HYDRAA Commissioner A V Ranganath following several contempt cases against him. “We have confidence in the judiciary, and we will face the cases in courts,” he told the media in New Delhi. The Chief Minister questioned why no one spoke up when former chief secretary Somesh Kumar faced 400 contempt of court cases in the past. Responding to another question, the Chief Minister mentioned that the High Court’s recent orders had not yet been examined and that the government would review them.
