Hyderabad: The Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TGAFRC) warned the private engineering colleges against excessive fee collections. In a statement on Tuesday, it said that it was brought to its notice that certain private engineering colleges are collecting additional amounts from students under various heads, over and above the fee fixed in the Government Orders. The TGAFRC made it clear that all such collections, “whether collected directly or indirectly, are unauthorised, illegal and impermissible”. The TGAFRC reiterated its directive, directing all private engineering colleges to strictly adhere to the fee structure fixed by the government and refrain from collecting any additional amount from students under any head whatsoever. Besides, such other action as may be deemed fit under the relevant rules and regulations will also be initiated.
