Vijayawada: Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable hospitality on World Nature Conservation Day, Novotel Vijayawada Varun highlighted a series of eco-friendly initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental footprint and promoting responsible tourism.
The hotel has significantly cut carbon emissions by switching its laundry boiler operations from diesel to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in 2023, resulting in an estimated annual reduction of 98 tonnes of carbon dioxide while eliminating sulphur dioxide emissions.
Since early 2025, solar energy has been supplying 33–44 percent of the property’s monthly electricity needs, reducing annual carbon emissions by an estimated 1,476–1,968 tonnes.
Hotel Manager Manish Pathak said World Nature Conservation Day serves as a reminder that businesses can contribute meaningfully to environmental protection through responsible practices.
Recognised with the internationally acclaimed Green Key Certification, Novotel Vijayawada Varun continues to advance cleaner energy solutions and sustainable resource management while delivering a quality guest experience.
