Chasing Winter Water – Jura Mountain (Entry #2 Short Film Awards 2026)
['Kayak Session']
Kayak Session Magazine
The Jura Mountains in Eastern France are one of Europe’s hidden gems for winter kayaking.
When a low-pressure system rolls in from the Atlantic, crossing the Vosges, the Black Forest, and into the Jura, rising water levels are almost guaranteed.
During the Carnival holidays, we took our chance and spent a week in the Jura with friends.
We chased waterfalls, ran playful rapids like the La Scie and Deluz, and explored everything this unique winter playground has to offer.
All in all, it was an unforgettable week of kayaking, adventure, and great times with friends.
