Samsung announced at its Unpacked event last month that it will soon bring stablecoin support to Samsung Wallet. New features to arrive in the near futureLocal reports from South Korea highlight that Samsung will enable stablecoin account opening, cross-border overseas remittances, and in-store point-of-sale payments to Samsung Wallet. The cross-border payments functionality will enable users to use stablecoins for sending remittances without requiring a separate app for virtual assets. This feature will be particularly useful, as it would enable users to save on indirect expenses such as exchange costs and intermediary bank fees when sending remittances. Stablecoin remittances are not just faster but also allow for the funds to be used the moment they're received.
