Hyderabad: In a major development the trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy was taken into custody by the police in Miryalaguda after tracing him and later brought to the city for further legal proceedings in connection with a sexual harassment case registered against him. Reddy reportedly went missing after discharge from the hospital, and his mobile phone remained switched off. Four special teams were formed to track him down before he was finally taken into custody. On Tuesday, speaking to the media Uday Krishna Reddy said he had not absconded but had gone to his native village, Ullapalem, to visit his grandmother after she fell ill following the allegations against him. Police are expected to record his statement and expedite the investigation and action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
