On August 9th, 1945 the US dropped the atomic bomb, code name "Fat Man" on Nagasaki ordered by President Truman. On 6th August 1945, Hiroshima was devastated by the first atomic bomb nicknamed `Little Boy, but the war was ended. IWR:Three days later, just after 11 on the morning of 9th August, a second atomic bomb nicknamed `Fat Man’ exploded above the city of Nagasaki.
