Bengaluru: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has appealed to domestic consumers to pay their average electricity bills for July within the stipulated 15-day period, as meter readers have been deployed for verification of beneficiaries under the Gruha Jyothi scheme.
BESCOM clarified that consumers need not worry if meter readers did not visit their premises during July.
Instead of issuing bills based on actual meter readings, the utility has generated average bills for domestic consumers based on their electricity consumption over the previous three months.
Consumers can verify and pay their July electricity bills through existing payment channels, including BESCOM subdivision cash counters, the BESCOM website, the BESCOM Mithra mobile application, and third-party payment platforms.
The utility further stated that regular meter reading and billing based on actual electricity consumption will resume from August onwards.
