Bantwal: The Bantwal Town Police on Monday took key suspect Chethan into custody in connection with the fatal attack on a young woman at the B.C. Road KSRTC bus stand, following his 11-day hospital stay in Mangaluru. Due to suspicions that he had ingested a toxic substance (rat poison), he was initially admitted to the Bantwal Government Hospital and later transferred to Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. Upon his discharge from medical care, Bantwal Town Police formally took him into custody on Monday. The investigation is actively being led by Bantwal Town Police Station Inspector Ananthapadmanabha under the supervision of Bantwal ASP (IPS) Yash Kumar Sharma.
