Belagavi: Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Tuesday clarified that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has only spoken about retiring from electoral politics and not from active public life, asserting that the veteran Congress leader would continue to campaign for the party in future elections. Speaking to reporters in Belagavi, Yathindra said his father had consistently maintained that he would remain active in public life and continue fighting for the rights of the poor and marginalised. “My father has said he will retire from electoral politics but will remain active in politics. Responding to questions on the much-awaited Karnataka cabinet expansion, the minister said the Congress high command had summoned both Siddaramaiah and Chief Minister D.K. Yathindra said he was in Belagavi to review urban development projects relating to the Belagavi City Corporation and the Belagavi Urban Development Authority.
