As companies build larger data centers to support AI applications, they must find reliable and carbon-free sources of power. Under a new agreement, two SMR-300 reactors could generate a combined 680 megawatts (MW) of carbon-free electricity. This output could power energy-intensive AI data centers, support nearby industries, and strengthen the regional power grid. Technology companies, utilities, and energy developers are actively exploring advanced nuclear reactors to power the next generation of digital infrastructure. If the project moves forward successfully, SMR-300 reactors could help fuel America’s expanding AI economy while supporting the country’s clean energy ambitions.
