Trigger Warning: This article contains references to the alleged physical abuse that some readers may find distressing. A Rochester, New York, couple has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of their two-year-old son following a Rochester Police Department investigation that found evidence of repeated physical abuse, including bite marks and bruises. The Monroe County Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide caused by complications from non-accidental blunt force injuries to the head that caused bleeding in the brain. Investigators noted “prolonged physical abuse” and said the couple physically abused Isaiah between May 8 and May 10. Monroe County is conducting an internal review of its child welfare protocols and procedures after the child’s death.
