Visakhapatnam: Unfazedby intermittent drizzle, lakhs of devotees participated in the sacred 32-km Giri Pradakshina of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Simhachalam on Tuesday, transforming the entire stretch of the circumambulation route into a sea of devotion.
Giri Pradakshina, one of the major annual festivals of Simhachalam Devasthanam, commenced at Tholipavancha downhill amid a spiritually-charged atmosphere.
Starting much earlier, hundreds of devotees, however, had completed the Giri Pradakshina by 10 am.
Following the completion of the Giri Pradakshina, thousands are expected to proceed to the hilltop shrine for darshan on Wednesday, with authorities anticipating around one lakh devotees at the temple.
The chants of Lord Narasimha reverberated along the 32-km route where overwhelming participation was witnessed, showcasing a magnificent display of faith and devotion.
