A man was struck and killed by a Los Angeles-bound Metrolink train at the downtown Burbank station, authorities said Saturday. The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. Friday on the tracks west of the pedestrian crossing at the downtown Burbank Metrolink Station, 201 N. Front St., between Magnolia Boulevard and Olive Avenue, Metrolink spokeswoman Laurene Lopez told City News Service. “The train, which was travelling northbound, was unable to stop and struck the decedent.”The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Lopez said. “Investigators spoke with the conductor of the Metrolink train, who had remained at the scene after the collision,” according to the police statement. There were no reports of injuries on the train, Lopez said.
