Nizamabad: Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana met Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy at the Secretariat in Hyderabad on Monday, seeking funds for major infrastructure works in the city and district. The MLA urged the Minister to sanction Rs 170 crore for the extension of Devi Road, Railway Station Road and Nandevada Bridge, besides constructing a new railway overbridge at Yellamma Gutta near Sony Function Hall to ease traffic congestion. He noted that Vijaya Theatre and Nandevada Bridge are currently the only two crossings over the railway line. Dhanpal also sought Rs 30 crore for the R&B road connecting the Radio Station in Nizamabad to the old GP office in Mudakpally. In addition, he submitted a proposal for a new 107-km National Highway linking Varni Junction, Nizamabad, Dichpally, Indalwai, Bhimgal and Kammarpally to improve regional connectivity.
