The race, now named the Legends Global Yorkshire Oaks, carries prize money of £600,000 and marks 40 years since the partnership was first established. It originated in 1982 with Craven Gilpin & Son, evolving through several corporate incarnations, CGC and ASM, to become part of Legends Global. Under the renewed agreement, Legends Global will continue to manage food, beverage and hospitality services at York Racecourse, which welcomes more than 300,000 guests annually across 18 racedays and over 700 non-racing events and functions each year. Legends Global is also the catering partner for Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, Real Madrid and FC Porto. William Derby, chief executive of York Racecourse, added: “We are thrilled to have renewed and extended our partnership with Legends Global and to be celebrating it with one of the biggest races of our season, the Group 1 Legends Global Yorkshire Oaks.
