“These employees have contributed to Transcom’s success for many years,” said FNV union representative Izabela Muchowska. “A company that closes a site cannot send those workers away with a package that barely clears the statutory minimum.” For the great majority of the Groningen workforce, FNV says, moving to another country is not a realistic option. FNV has called on Transcom to come back to the negotiating table with a proposal that does justice to the position of the Groningen workers. If the company does not, the union and its members will decide together on the next steps.
