The Chicago White Sox announced Monday that longtime shortstop Tim Anderson is retiring after 10 MLB seasons. Eight of those years came with the White Sox, though he spent the 2024 season with the Miami Marlins and 2025 season with the Los Angeles Angels. The White Sox also announced they would be honoring his career with a pregame ceremony on Sept. 17:The 33-year-old was a two-time All-Star with the White Sox (2021-22) and a Silver Slugger winner in 2020. He helped lead the organization to a pair of playoff appearances in the 2020-21 seasons, ending what had been an 11-year postseason drought. Anderson's last two years outside of Chicago didn't go as well, as he was designated for assignment and ultimately released midseason in both instances.
