NetApp just bought JetStream Software, and on paper the deal is about disaster recovery. That matters because a lot of enterprises still run critical applications on VMware, sitting on storage that has nothing to do with NetApp. If a company’s disaster recovery setup on NetApp infrastructure proves solid, moving more workloads later becomes a much easier conversation. Disaster recovery used to be mostly about surviving hardware failures or site outages. Testing, compliance requirements, and networking work don’t disappear just because disaster recovery went smoothly.
