Several Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad workers were detained after clashing with the police during a march towards the Jharkhand Assembly.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the parent organisation of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passed a resolution urging the Union government to abolish the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for medical admissions.
The resolution also urged the Centre to allow the state to admit students to medical colleges based on their Class 12 marks.
However, the court asked the Election Commission to provide details of cases disposed of and pending before the tribunals.
