If approved, the development would include up to 504 battery storage containers, 126 power conversion systems, a new 400kV substation, water tanks, security fencing and acoustic barriers.
Rather than generating electricity, the batteries would store excess power from the National Grid and release it when demand is highest.
The scheme has previously been described as covering an area equivalent to almost 39 football pitches, making it one of the largest battery storage proposals in the country.
Nat Power's proposed plans (Image: SCC)Planning documents describe the project as "critical infrastructure" needed to support the UK's transition to cleaner energy.
The planning documents indicate the land has been used for vehicle and open storage for more than 30 years.
