City of York Council is seeking public feedback on a proposed extension to its existing Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), following a request from North Yorkshire Police for additional powers. "Your feedback will help us understand local experiences of anti-social behaviour and whether additional PSPO conditions would be an appropriate and proportionate measure to help address any identified issues." The council said the PSPO would help address behaviours that negatively impact public quality of life, using powers available under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Breaching the proposed conditions within the PSPO area would be a punishable offence, subject to a fine.
