William Dickson launched the shocking assault on victim Lisa Bissett after the pair had become involved in a “neighbourhood dispute” at an address in Port Seton. Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that 45-year-old Dickson smashed windows at the woman’s property while she was out and, when she returned home, he attacked with the the pole. The court was told that the victim was rushed to hospital for treatment to her injuries and had to have surgery to have metal plates fitted. He also admitted to assaulting Lisa Bissett by repeatedly striking her on the body with a metal pole to her severe injury and impairment on the same date. Sheriff Matt Jackson KC denied the bail application and remanded Dickson in custody, and deferred sentence for reports to be prepared to September 1.
