New powers could come into force in York to tackle anti-social behaviour

City of York Council said it is considering expanding its existing Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) following a request for additional powers from North Yorkshire Police.
PSPOs are legal tools intended to address behaviours that negatively affect the quality of life in a community, a council spokesperson said.

"Your feedback will help us understand local experiences of anti-social behaviour and whether additional PSPO conditions would be an appropriate and proportionate measure to help address any identified issues.
