Commissioner and mayor pro temp Mike Burgess has since been filling the role and was expected to be appointed interim mayor for the remainder of Poteet’s term. Scavo was sworn in as the new interim mayor for Park City. Two names were up for the commission’s vote, Brittany Hayden and Linda Burgess, Mike Burgess’s wife. Ultimately, Linda Burgess won the seat with three votes as Mike Burgess abstained. The Park City Commission is scheduled to meet again on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m.
