Corey Searle lost control of his moped on a bend before colliding head-on with a bus on the A3059 on Sunday, August 24, last year. The inquest heard that, by coincidence, a police officer passed the scene almost immediately after the collision and at first believed the bus had broken down. The inquest heard the bus driver had only a few seconds to react. The inquest heard there was no known reason why Corey failed to negotiate the bend and crossed the centre line. Coroner Emma Hillson said the collision happened after Corey, who was travelling westbound towards Newquay, lost control on the corner and entered the path of the bus.
