Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) confirmed a fire measuring approximately 10m by 10m near St Leonards yesterday evening (August 10). A DWFRS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 7.41pm yesterday (August 10) to Hurn Road, St Leonards and St Ives, to reports of a fire in the open.” Two crews from Ferndown and Springbourne attended the blaze, along with a water carrier from Poole. Firefighters used one hose reel jet and one main line to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
