While this is provisionally the lowest annual figure recorded outside the years affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the data shows significant differences in workplace safety between industries.
Around 3.2% of workers in the sector sustained a non-fatal injury, compared with 1.7% across all industries.
According to the HSE's latest non-fatal workplace injury statistics, an estimated 680,000 workers sustained a non-fatal injury at work during 2024/25.
A strong health and safety policy should therefore consider both immediate safety risks and longer-term health risks.
Preventing Workplace AccidentsThe latest figures show that Great Britain continues to perform strongly on workplace safety internationally, but serious workplace injuries and deaths have not disappeared.
