Les Greenhalgh began serving his first pints last Saturday as the new management partner at the Golfers Rest. The pub closed its doors for minor works to take place in the kitchen and the pub to change hands in the last week of July. A larger refurbishment is still planned for the pub, although the owner Punch Pubs has yet to set a date. The latest change in management follows the departure of husband-and-wife duo Brian and Carol Millar, who left the pub in April after 20 years at the helm. Will East temporarily took over the premises in May before leaving his role last week.
