BAXTER — Indoor air quality at the Baxter Water Treatment plant was investigated, finding some areas of the plant were never ventilated and others had failing equipment. The Baxter City Council heard the results of the on-site evaluation from Short Elliott and Hendrickson during a work session on Aug. 4. We're going to extend the life of the process equipment, which is really the critical function of the water plant, right? Replacing aging makeup air equipment is already in the budget for 2026 with a preliminary project budget of $584,000. In council comments, City Council member Connie Lyscio noted the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event on Aug. 15 at the Northland Arboretum.
