Fordingbridge Paddling Pool will close from this evening, Tuesday, August 11, with no set date for reopening, as part of efforts to conserve water during the ongoing period of hot weather. A spokesperson for Fordingbridge Town Council said: "We appreciate that the closure will be disappointing, particularly during the warm weather, but conserving water at this time will help protect essential supplies and support the emergency response." Prolonged hot weather, high water usage and the significant amount of water needed to tackle recent fires in the Forest have all contributed to the current situation. The spokesperson added: "Bournemouth Water has asked customers to use water carefully and reduce consumption wherever possible until temperatures fall and demand eases."
