BurleyOne Brooklyn Health Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to improving outcomes for people with heart failure, according to an Aug. 10 announcement. The program aims to shorten hospital stays and increase healthy days at home for patients living with heart failure. Sabra Lewsey, M.D., MPH, volunteer chair of the American Heart Association Heart Failure System of Care Advisory Group, said, “We are proud to recognize the leadership and dedicated care teams at OBH Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center for their strong commitment to improving care for people living with heart failure. One Brooklyn Health comprises Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Interfaith Medical Center, and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. It is nationally recognized for high-quality acute care in areas such as heart failure, stroke, and diabetes.
