AguilarArcher Aviation Inc. announced on Aug. 10 that it has signed definitive agreements to acquire Boeing's Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu subsidiaries, aiming to create an end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense. The deal combines the autonomy and airspace intelligence software developed by Wisk, SkyGrid, and Insitu with Archer's artificial intelligence foundation model for aerospace and defense known as ZEE. Boeing will take a stake in Archer and become a strategic partner through an ongoing collaboration and technology-sharing arrangement. Brian Yutko, vice president of Commercial Airplanes Product Development at Boeing, said, "This transaction is a win-win for Boeing and Archer. We look forward to collaborating with Archer to drive continued innovation in aerospace, defense and autonomy."
