The sculptural staircase took the longest to design, but it is also the home’s most defining gesture. “We knew we wanted a statement railing, because it is the first thing you notice in the double-height space,” says Aggarwal. “The staircase has floating wooden treads, while the railing is clad in large sheets of brass with metal rivets. We added a wooden handrail with ball-like details fixed onto the brass, which brings further attention to the material.
