David Lavery is Chief Executive of the Law Society of Northern Ireland. Members of the Law Society council are due to hold a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the deepening controversy surrounding the legal body’s chief executive, David Lavery. It is understood members of the Council of the Law Society will hold an unscheduled meeting on Wednesday to discuss the continuing controversy. The planned meeting comes as members of the legal profession urged the Law Society to hold a special meeting and ‘no confidence’ vote in Mr Lavery. It is not known if those hoping to force the special meeting have gathered the required 50 signatures.
