Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to stay just below heat advisory levels, so we do not expect another advisory right now. Thunderstorms on Monday will favor areas along and west of the central mountain chain, including Gallup, Grants, Silver City, Reserve and the Gila region. Scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday will again favor Gallup, Grants, Silver City, Reserve and the Gila region. That means temperatures will begin to come down, thunderstorm chances will begin to go up and moisture levels should return to about normal for mid-August. From Thursday through Saturday, monsoon moisture will continue to increase, and showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous across much of New Mexico.
