Fire crews battled a major house at Glan yr Afon at 2.56pm on Saturday, August 8, with crews from Tumble, Pontardawe, Llanelli and Morriston sent to the scene, as Ammanford firefighters were attending a separate emergency. A ground monitor, three hose reel jets, two main jets and a thermal imaging camera were used to extinguish the fire. The incident required a multi-agency response, with Dyfed-Powys Police and Wales and West Utilities were also in attendance. A woman aged 52 and from Ammanford was arrested on suspicion of arson and has been released under investigation. "At the time of the call, crews from Ammanford Fire Station were already responding to another emergency incident.
