Mrs Sarah-Jane Martin has applied for permission to change the use of The Belfry Country Hotel, Yarcombe, near Honiton, from a hotel (Use Class C1) to a dwellinghouse (Use Class C3).
According to the Design and Access Statement, planning permission for the same change of use was previously granted under application reference 23/0782/FUL.
The Belfry is a Grade II listed building that was originally built as Yarcombe's village school in 1872 before being converted into a hotel around 1970.
The application notes that no alterations are proposed to the building's exterior, with the only visible change being the removal of The Belfry B&B signs.
The Design and Access Statement says the building's heritage significance would be preserved because there are no proposed external alterations.
