New pantry scheme helps families struggling to feed children

A survey of Pantry members found almost nine in ten said they no longer lie awake worrying about how they will feed their families.
More than three-quarters said they had stopped skipping meals, while nearly half said they no longer needed to rely on emergency foodbank support.
The Pantry operates differently from a traditional foodbank, with members paying a weekly contribution of £6.50 which is reinvested into fresh food supplies.
CHAT said support from the community helps keep both its Foodbank and Pantry stocked for people across Mid Devon.
The Pantry operates from CHAT's base in Tiverton alongside its emergency Foodbank, which remains available to people facing an immediate crisis.
