Dr Desmond McCann was erased from the medical register after the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service concluded that his conduct was "fundamentally incompatible with continued registration." A locum GP has been erased from the medical register after a tribunal found he committed sexually motivated misconduct towards two colleagues, acted dishonestly, and made serious clinical and prescribing errors involving several patients. Dr Desmond McCann, who qualified in 1978 at the University of Glasgow, was struck off by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service on August 2. The tribunal concluded that Dr McCann’s fitness to practise was impaired and that he posed a "high" ongoing risk to public protection. It concluded that the seriousness of the misconduct was "fundamentally incompatible with continued registration" and that no sanction short of being struck from the medical register would sufficiently protect the public or uphold confidence in the profession.
