Armed police officers seized a machete from a car’s footwell following a high-speed pursuit. The Armed Policing team initially started following the vehicle as it had suspected links to criminality. Having seen the car in New Basford at around 12.20 am on Friday (7 August), officers turned around and followed it. The next few minutes saw the car reach speeds of 95 mph while being driven on the wrong side of the carriageway on Valley Road, which has a 40 mph speed limit. “The speed the suspect vehicle was travelling at – not to mention the standard of driving – was incredibly dangerous and thankfully didn’t result in anyone being injured.
