A fire broke out in a hedgerow behind two homes on Hoe Road in Bishop’s Waltham at around 7.30pm on Sunday, August 9, and quickly spread into nearby gardens and damaged property. A spokesman for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to Hoe Road in Bishop’s Waltham shortly before 7.30pm yesterday evening (09/09) following reports of a fire involving two gardens and a hedgerow next to a playground. A resident of one of the homes affected, Terry Tong, said the fire destroyed his newly erected fence and damaged his greenhouse, shed and various plants.
