South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call at around 01.49am on August 10 to reports of a fire at Fforest Community Park Children's Playground on Salisbury Road. Residents recall being awoken by blue lights as the force fought multiple blazes in the play area. Multiple areas in the park can be seen affected by the blaze, with the ground surrounding climbing frames, swings and the slide all scorched by the fire.
