Ryan Madden, 37, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court charged with attempted murder following a violent knife attack on the night of February 7. An argument broke out between the men that evening over noise, with the victim telling Madden to 'shut up' and calling him 'a d***head'. The argument passed and the victim went back to watching television, before then falling asleep. Initially he thought the defendant was punching him, but when he drew back his arm a second time, he spotted a knife.
